Visiting the Archives requires a reservation.

Visit Reservation
Reservations are required.
(First come, first served.)
※Preschool children are not allowed to visit.
※Junior high school students and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please check the “Requests from Us” section and apply through the reservation site.
Reservations can only be made once per month, for up to four people per reservation.
※We do not accept reservations over the phone.
※If you want to cancel, please cancel through the link in the email you receive from the reservation site after booking.

To visit “Former Shibusawa Residence” adjacent to the Archives, a separate reservation is required.

Visitors joining the Former Shibusawa Residence tour can also visit the archive before or after the tour without making a reservation.
Visitor Information
The Day of Your Visit

Please gather all your accompanying guests and come to the entrance reception on the 1st floor at the Historical Archives.

The person who made the reservation should present the QR code, which can be obtained from the email sent by the reservation site after booking, at the reception desk.
※Please wait at the entrance until your reservation time. When the time comes, we will guide you inside the Archives.
※You can visit freely.
Requests from Us
Please read this before visiting.

Photography is permitted for personal and non-commercial use only.
However, photography is prohibited for exhibits marked with a “No Photography” sign and for monitor displays.
Please refrain from the following:- ・Taking videos or audio recordings.
- ・Using equipment such as tripods or selfie sticks.
- ・Taking close-up photos of exhibits.
- ・Using flash photography.
- ・Engaging in behavior that may inconvenience other visitors (e.g., cutting in line, staying in one spot for extended periods to take photos). When taking photos, please ensure that other visitors are not included in your pictures.

Audio guides in Japanese and English are available for use on your smartphone or tablet.
To access the guide, scan the QR code displayed on the exhibit captions.
Please use your own earphones when listening to the guide. Note that we do not provide audio guide devices. -
The video at Visual Wall will be screened at the following time. (Approximately 10 minutes)

Please note that the lights in Epoch Room will be turned off during the screening. -
The temperature, humidity and lighting in the exhibition rooms are set to protect the materials. Thank you for your understanding.

To avoid damaging exhibits, please store large luggage in the lockers (free of charge) and umbrellas in the umbrella stands, both located on the 1st floor.

Please do NOT touch the exhibits, models, or glass cases.

Please use pencils instead of ballpoint pens or mechanical pencils.

Please set your phone to silent mode and refrain from talking on the phone inside the exhibition rooms.

There are no vending machines on the premises, so please bring your own drinks.
However, eating and drinking (including candy and gum) are not allowed inside the exhibition rooms.

Smoking is prohibited on the NOVARE premises, including the Historical Archives.

We may be temporarily closed depending on the situation due to weather warnings or traffic conditions such as train suspensions.
We will notify you latest information on our website and by e-mail to the person who made the reservation.
In that case, related costs of visiting the Archives (e.g., transportation costs, accommodation costs) are not covered by compensation. Thank you for your understanding. -
We are not responsible for any trouble caused by duplicating the QR code.
